My mum came to New Zealand because of her family. My grandfather and her siblings came to NZ first and she followed years after.
My mum had a happy childhood. She lived in a house with 5 siblings and her parents. She had 2 sisters and 3 brothers and she was
the youngest. She used to play in the streets with other kids during her summer break. Her hobbies included baking
   and playing table tennis.

Her mum was a teacher and her dad was a plant engineer. Her parents were always responsible and cared for their children and her
grandparents were constantly busy with their work and taking care of their grandchildren.

One of the most impacting and hardest times of her life was when she was 16 and her mum died from a heart attack.

She was raised in a Catholic family and religion had greatly impacted her life as it has shaped her values, morals and standards in life.
The things she values most are her relationships with God and her family.

My mum feels that life is more relaxed here in NZ. The city of Manila is very overpopulated and it took her 4 hours of her time just
to travel to and from work. Life now is different from her younger years with the advancement in technology and especially
the internet. It has also changed how people communicate with each other.

My dad came to New Zealand because he wanted to marry my mum. He travelled to NZ 3 years after her.
My dad used to live with his grandparents and his older brother and younger sister because his parents were
mostly working overseas. I was surprised to learn that his family had owned a pet shop and he helped out a lot in
him was when he was able to start working and he could afford things without the help of his parents.

One of the hardest times of his life was when his dad died, but the most life-changing thing for him was when
he was able to start working and he could afford things without the help of his parents.

One of the most impacting and hardest times of her life was when she was 16 and her mum died from a heart attack.

The practice of the Catholic religion impacted his direction in life. He values his family and God the most in his life.

My dad thinks that the biggest change in the world since he was my age is the advancement in technology
because back when he was in school he didn’t have a device, but only books and food in his bag.

My grandfather came to NZ to live with his children.
In the Philippines, he lived with his parents and siblings. He was the second eldest out of 10 children.
He used to buy things that his parents need for their small business. His hobbies include gardening,
   playing table tennis and reading.

His parents were caring, hard-working and they became my grandfather’s role models in life. He
has 6 children and is currently living with his third son.

The hardest and most impacting event of his life was when his wife died, but he got through it with
support and prayers of relatives and family. The happiest moment of his life was when his family was united here in New Zealand.

My grandfather is a Roman Catholic and feels that his religion helps and guides him with his
daily life and the choices he makes.

Life is better in NZ than in the Philippines, because it is less polluted, less populated and there is
   more availability of health services.
